Lubrication Systems Cut Downtime

You could cut costs and save valuable downtime by fitting a lubrication system.
Lubrication systems offer numerous benefits when it comes to machinery maintenance. Friction and wear are constant companions of systems and machines. Lubrication Systems provide a way of cutting your process costs and provide considerable increases to the service life of machinery elements. In addition to these benefits, controlled lubrication also makes a positive contribution to environmental protection by delivering the correct amount of lubrication only when needed. Vogel’s centralized lubrication systems and minimal quantity lubrication systems can cut the amount of lubricant you use.

Vogel manufacture:

  • Centralized Lubrication Systems
  • Minimal Quantity Lubrication Systems
  • Spandau Pumps

Applications include:
food industry, machine tools, printing machines, textile machines, packaging machines, beverage filling plants, construction machinery, woodworking machines, presses, wind-power installations, chain lubrication, pneumatic tools, and many more.

Dave explores how inverters can power your way to greater energy savings

Motors are everywhere in industry and business. Since they power almost everything, from pumps and fans to compressors, they are serious energy users and, as a result, offer major scope for energy saving - which is where acorn can help. Invertek Inverter

One of the best ways to save energy with motors is to fit an inverter to units that need to operate at a range of speeds.

It can be wasteful to drive every motor at the maximum speed all the time. Inverters enable the motor to be driven at different speeds in order to match the load required by the equipment or application. This is important because lowering the speed of a motor by just 20% can save up to 50% in energy.

In addition to the huge potential for saving energy by slowing down the motor in many applications, the use of inverters has other important benefits, including:

  • Improved process control and hence enhanced product quality
  • Programmable soft starting, soft stopping and dynamic braking
  • Wide range of speed, torque and power.
  • Facility to control multiple motors
  • Unity power factor
  • Dynamic response comparable with DC drives
  • By-pass capability in the unlikely event of failure.

Add these energy saving benefits to the energy saving tax incentives offered by the government and I’m sure you will agree the savings are not to be taken lightly. In a world where shrinking profit margins are becoming commonplace, the possible saving you can achieve, just by adding an Inverter to your electric motors, can contribute to running your business a lot more efficiently - not to mention doing your bit to save the environment.
