Ball Splines
A Ball Spline is a linear motion system in which balls in the spline nut transmit torque while moving on the ground raceways on the spline shaft.
Ball Splines can be preloaded and hence can demonstrate high performance in applications subject to vibration and impact loads, or where a high degree of positioning accuracy is required. Furthermore, if a ball spline is used in place of a linear bushing, then a rated load of 10 times greater than the bush can be achieved with the same shaft diameter.
Acorn supply THK medium and high torque type Ball Splines, with both flanged and plain nuts, in shaft diameters from 15mm to 100mm. Rotary Ball Splines are also available in the THK brand.
Ball Splines, Rota Ball Splines and Stoke Ball Splines by NB are also available from Acorn.
