Ceramic Bearings
Ceramic Ball Bearings are particularly useful in applications where the environment is severe, where high speed and lack of lubrication is a problem for standard bearings or where bearing contamination is an issue.
Made from Silicon Nitride, Ceramic Ball Bearings have high hardness, electrical insulation properties and low density which make them suitable for use as bearing material. In high speed applications ceramic bearings offer two significant advantages – ceramic rolling elements have low density and greater stiffness. This reduces friction which, in turn, reduces heat and vibrations.
