Ceramic Ball Bearings

Ceramic ball bearings are particularly useful in applications where the environment is severe, where high speed and lack of lubrication is a problem for standard bearings or where bearing contamination is an issue.
Made from Silicon Nitride, ceramic ball bearings have high hardness, electrical insulation properties and low density which make them suitable for use as bearing material.

Ceramic ball bearings have a longer service life

SKF Hybrid ceramic ball bearings can last up to ten times longer when compared to an all-steel bearing, reducing machinery down-time, and ultimately, maintenance costs.
Ceramic’s substantially higher wear resistance, ability to work well in difficult running conditions and electrical insulation properties makes it the best option for electric motors, professional hand tools and fluid machinery.

In high speed applications ceramic bearings offer two significant advantages – Ceramic rolling elements have low density and greater stiffness. This reduces friction which, in turn, reduces heat and vibrations.

SKF All-Ceramic Bearings are used in applications such as the metal industry and fluid machinery.
Properties include:
Corrosion resistant
Light weight
Electrical insulation
Non-Magnetism properties

Hybrid Ceramic Bearings – used in applications where high speeds are acheived such as stepping motors and where lubrication is difficult to apply
Properties include:
Longer service life
Electrical insulation capability
Superior wear resistance
Tolerant to poor lubrication

Single-Ball Hybrid Bearing used in applications such as industrial gearboxes and automotive.
Properties Include:
Self Healing bearing
A singe ceramic rolling element keeps the raceway smooth and clear of particles
