Toroidal roller bearings

The Toroidal Roller Bearing, also know as a CARB Bearing, was introduced in the mid 1990's and it was a revolution in bearing technology. Never before had a new bearing concept so many new features to offer.

What are the features of toroidal roller bearings?

The Toroidal Roller Bearing takes angular misalignment as well as axial displacement and higher loads. A cylindrical roller bearing tolerates axial displacement, but not angular misalignment. A Spherical Roller Bearing tolerates angular misalignment, but not internal axial displacement. A needle roller bearing is compact and tolerates axial displacement, but not misalignment.

The toroidal roller bearing combines the advantages of these three bearing types without any of their disadvantages. Whether you are working with machine maintenance or mechanical design, CARB will give you a whole new perspective on cost efficiency.

Features & Benefits

The toroidal roller bearing concept offers several benefits for a wide range of application areas. The general, most important benefits are:

  • High load carrying capacity
  • More compact and less complex designs
  • Reduced weight and manufacturing costs
