How do radial spherical plain bearings work and where are they used?

Radial spherical plain bearings have an outstanding load carrying capacity, as a result of having no rolling elements.

They are particularly suited to use in bearing arrangements where there is misalignment, deformation of the shaft or stresses. They can accommodate for tilting, oscillating and slewing movements. 

These bearings have a very high wear resistance, as well as being resistant to shock loads, making them ideal for arduous environments.
