Flywheel couplings

Sometimes referred to as Flange Couplings, Flywheel Couplings are often found in cranes, harvesting machines and floor conveyors. They provide maintenance free operation, free from resonance.

ACORN® are authorised distributors for KTR Bowex FLE-PA and FLE-PAC Flange Couplings and can also offer the Fenner Fenaflex and CENTA's Centaflex-A, Centaflex-X and Centaflex-K series Couplings.

What is a flywheel coupling and what are the benefits?

KTR Flywheel CouplingThe flywheel coupling is a torsionally rigid coupling, often found in applications such as cranes, harvesting machines and floor conveyors. Its nylon and steel composition means that it is maintenance free, as well as having high mechanical resistance, and the ability to withstand temperatures of up to 130°C

Features of the flywheel coupling include:

  • High torsional stiffness – operation free from resonance
  • Available up to an engine power of 2,500 kW
  • Maintenance free due to the nylon and steel material combination
  • Nylon flange with high mechanical resistance and thermal strength (+ 130oc)
  • Compact measurement
  • Simple assembly through axial plug-in
  • Special mounting flanges available

Contact our dedicated couplings centre for more information on flywheel couplings, or if you require assistance choosing the right coupling for your application.

How do I choose the right SKF precision bearing for my application?

Choosing the right SKF precision bearing depends on several factors, including load capacity, speed, precision requirements, and environmental conditions. Get in touch with us today to find the correct precision bearing for your applications needs

What are the benefits of using SKF's advanced coatings on precision bearings?

SKF's advanced coatings, such as NoWear, enhance wear resistance, reduce friction, and extend bearing life. These coatings are particularly beneficial in demanding applications where standard bearings may not perform adequately.

How can I extend the life of my SKF precision bearings?

Proper maintenance, including regular lubrication, monitoring for signs of wear, and ensuring correct installation, can extend the life of SKF precision bearings. Using high-performance lubricants and following SKF's maintenance guidelines is also recommended

How do SKF super-precision bearings differ from standard precision bearings?

SKF super-precision bearings offer higher levels of accuracy, speed, and reliability compared to standard precision bearings. They are designed for applications requiring the utmost precision, such as high-speed spindles, precision instruments, and robotics.
