What is a wrap-element jaw coupling?
A wrap-element (or “snap-wrap”) jaw coupling is a type of flexible shaft coupling designed for easy maintenance and reduced downtime.
A typical assembly consists of:
- Two metallic hubs
- One split or wrap-around elastomer element
Instead of a solid spider, the elastomer element wraps around the hub jaws. This design allows the element to be replaced without moving the hubs or disturbing the connected equipment, making it particularly suited to installations where access is restricted or downtime is costly.
