What are ball splines?

THK Ball Spline

Ball splines are a shaft guidance system, utilising a nut with recirculating ball bearings running on a shaft with a profile/raceway. This allows for guidance combined with the potential to transmit torque.

Cylindrical nut, flanged nut and rotary types are available from THK and NB. Diameters range from 4mm to 100mm.
