How do heating rings work?
Bearing heating rings are supplied in sizes relevant to individual bearing sizes. They consist of an aluminium ring with handles insulated handles for safety.
To dismount a bearing, the heating ring is first pre-heated, and then clamped onto the bearing's inner ring to rapidly transfer heat and allow the bearing to expand for dismounting. The bearing will then slide easily off the shaft, without causing damage to the shaft or surrounding equipment.
