What Are SKF Oval 2‑Bolt Flanged Units?
SKF oval 2‑bolt flanged units are pre‑assembled bearing units consisting of:
- A self‑aligning insert bearing (typically a deep groove ball bearing insert)
- An oval flanged housing with two mounting bolt holes
- Integrated seals and, in many cases, a relubrication point
- A locking device to secure the bearing to the shaft
The oval housing is bolted to a flat surface, with the shaft running through the bearing bore. Because the bearing and housing are designed and assembled by SKF, these units offer reliable performance, quick installation and minimal mounting complexity.
