How do SKF pilot bore timing pulleys work and where are they used?
How do SKF pilot bore timing pulleys work?
The grooves in the pulley mesh with the teeth of the timing belt to avoid slippage. The tension of the belt, combined with the friction of the meshed grooves and teeth cause the pulley and shaft to rotate together, conveying motion.
SKF pilot bore timing pulleys are supplied with a small pilot hole which will need to be fully machined to fit the shaft before mounting.
Where are SKF pilot bore timing pulleys used?
Every application which uses a timing belt will also need a matching timing pulley, whether that’s pilot bored or tapered bored.
