What Are Metric Timing Belts?

Metric timing belts (also known as metric synchronous belts) feature precision-moulded teeth that mesh perfectly with corresponding pulley grooves. Unlike V-belts or flat belts, timing belts eliminate slippage, ensuring exact rotational synchronisation between shafts.

They are commonly manufactured in metric pitches such as:

20M

These pitch designations refer to the distance (in millimetres) between belt teeth, allowing accurate specification for industrial machinery.
