INA’s history began in 1946, when brothers Wilhelm and Georg Schaeffler established Industrie GmbH in Herzogenaurach, Germany. In 1949, Georg Schaeffler developed a cage-guided needle roller bearing with a compact, lightweight design. The name INA comes from Industrie-Nadellager, meaning “industrial needle roller bearings”.
