ACORN and NSK Team Up to Provide Essential Bearing Training to Customers

On 23rd September 2025, ACORN was delighted to host a free NSK Bearing Training Day at NSK’s state-of-the-art facilities in Newark. The event was designed to give customers a deeper understanding of three key bearing ranges: ball bearings, RHP Self Lube units, and precision bearings; along with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at NSK’s UK manufacturing site.

The Newark sire has a rich history in bearing manufacture. Originally opened in 1900, it later became part of the RHP group before joining NSK in 1990. Today, the facility is renowned for its high-accuracy bearings and linear components, as well as its stringent quality control processes, which include 100% product inspection.

During the factory tour, delegates saw first-hand how NSK combines advanced engineering and meticulous craftsmanship to achieve superior precision and reliability.

Across the three sessions, attendees explored a wide range of topics: from product features and performance benefits to application suitability and high-performance solutions for demanding industries.

The session was led by Andy Fletcher, ACORN’s Bearing Product Manager, and Dennis Briggs-Price, NSK’s UK Aftermarket Field Sales Manager. Together, they offered valuable insight into how to identify the right bearing for the job, improve application performance, and support end users with expert advice.

As one of the UK’s authorised NSK distributors for over 12 years, ACORN has built extensive in-house expertise. Combined with Andy’s years of hands-on experience, this ensures customers receive not only quality products but also knowledge-backed recommendations and technical support.
