North Business Development Manager, Craig Tivey was contacted by a local sand & gravel quarry as the plant had come to a total stand still due to a motor and gearbox failure. Craig got to sorting the issue ASAP, collecting the broken equipment to inspect it by Friday dinner time. Unfortunately, the gearbox was a specially manufactured piece of equipment from Germany and was beyond repair.
However, this didn’t perturb ACORN®, as Craig organised for a company to replicate and build a replacement gearbox overnight, right here in the UK.
The replacement part was collected Saturday morning and was with the customer by lunch time. This meant the customer could organise fitting the part on Sunday, ready for production to start back up and running as normal on Monday morning. By sorting the replacement parts over the weekend, the customer incurred zero loss of production costs.
