Hexagonal belts are designed for serpentine drive applications, where one or more of the pulleys are rotating in different directions. Used throughout the industry, the Protroque hexagonal belt, or double v-belt as they are referred to, is popular in agricultural and horticultural applications. What Protorque Hexagonal Belts Are Used For

Drives involving multiple pulleys — often in agricultural or horticultural machinery, such as riding lawn mowers, tractors, large grass‑cutting machines, harvesters, etc.

Machinery where some pulleys rotate in opposite directions — making a standard single‑sided V‑belt unsuitable because it would lose grip or slip on the non‑contacting side.

Situations where there are complex belt paths (e.g. belts wrapping around pulleys on both sides, serpentine layouts), or where a compact, reversible, flexible belt is needed.
