When to Choose Protorque — and Which Type

• For general mechanical drives (motors → pumps, compressors, fans, etc.), a classical V-belt or wedge belt is often the simplest and most cost-effective choice.

• When the drive uses small pulleys or compact layouts, cogged belts (classical or wedge) offer better flexibility and efficiency.

• For precision-driven, synchronous motion, or where slip must be avoided (e.g. conveyors, robotics, packaging, CNC, machine tools), timing belts (rubber or polyurethane) are preferred.

• For heavy-duty or high-power transmissions (large motors, industrial machinery), wedge or cogged wedge belts — possibly in multiple-belt configurations — offer higher power transmission capacity and durability.
